48-hour weekend technology event occurring annually in November. 120++ developers, designers and entrepreneurs take part to build solutions and new product and innovations to solve problems in the rail industry. Three different trains take the participants across the UK and mainland Europe to various locations as they test and produce their products.
To ignite the Rail industry, we ran a 3-month programme housing 10 established startups from other industries to implement their technologies into rail. The programme was supported by five major owning groups: GWR, Arriva, National Express, Go-Ahead and Stagecoach; and top level service partners including EY, Osborne Clarke, BAE Systems and the Novacroft Group.
The HackTrain Conference marked the end of the HackTrain accelerator and showcased the results of all 10 startups that were part of the 3-month accelerator programme. During the full day event, we also focused on communicating and enabling innovation in the rail industry by introducing speakers of both the tech and rail industry to share their knowledge.Watch the Aftermovie
An acronym of Bringing Actionable Recommendations to Revitalise Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Rail Sector, the B.A.R.R.I.E.R.S. Report highlights the barriers to innovation in the rail industry and provides actionable recommendations to combat these barriers and improve innovation.Read the online report
We produced a data report for one of the ROSCO’s over a period of 3 months. During the 3 months, we carried out investigations, findings and analysis of their organisations data sets and produced recommendations on how the organisation can realise the value of its existing datasets.
Directly working with clients operating in the Rail industry, we strengthen the Transport Owning Groups bids by introducing innovation strategies to win quality points. Our goal is to win the most recent and largest franchise - the West Coast Partnership.
